Single-core cable sheath at one end of the ground way why the need to install a parallel laying along the cable return line?

Feb 16, 2017

In order to ensure that the induced voltage in the sheath does not exceed the allowable scale, it is necessary to install a conductor laid parallel to the cable line, and the ends of the conductor are grounded. This conductor is called back Streamline. When a single-phase earth fault occurs, the ground short-circuit current can flow back through the return line to the central point of the system because the magnetic flux generated by the ground current of the return line counteracts the flux generated by a portion of the cable conductor's ground current. Reduce the short-circuit fault when the sheath of the induced voltage.
